The Prince of Peace
Uses Disciples of Peace

How You Can Become a Pacifist

It's not easy for an American to become a follower of the Prince of Peace. We are part of a culture which was born in unBiblical violence and glorifies violence. This makes it doubly difficult to

present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. {2} And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:1-2

Are you willing to sacrifice yourself and your own ambitions? Are you willing to be labeled a "non-conformist"? Then you're ready to follow the Prince of Peace.

I recommend three starting points:

  1. Find other Bible-believing followers of the Prince of Peace.
  2. Read the requirements of the Sixth Commandment, perhaps as listed in the Westminster Larger Catechism. Memorize all the prooftexts.
  3. Make vows or affirmations each day to become more like Christ. This program is spelled out on our Meditation Page.
E-Mail me. Tell me how you're doing. I'll tell you how I'm doing. We can encourage each other to repudiate the kingdom of violence and follow the Prince of Peace.
